Polygon Path F4

I'm very happy with the overall experience with the purchase, delivery, and performance of the Path F4. I've had the bike for a month now and have ridden it for about 200 miles. The bike came well packaged and was easy to assemble. It rides and handles well and was able to dial the seat position in for a comfortable riding position quickly. I'm really impressed with the shifting of the Shimano Tiagra sytem. For a lower end group this system works remarkedly smooth and quick. The bike also rolls really smooth and fast. I would like to see the bike offered with a wider gear range. I life outside Pittsburgh, PA and the area is really hilly. With the current gearing there are areas that can be really challenging to ride. I almost forgot to mention how nice the finish on the bike looks. This is not a bike that you'll set any speed and distance records. However, it is a pleasure to ride. It's well built, plenty of bang for the buck, and should hold up well.

Fun bike - But I have had issues

So firstly the bike is a joy to ride most of the time and at only 10kg it is easy to carry up the stairs to train stations and the like. My issues are that the gears are a little higher than I would expect from a hybrid. I know I am a casual rider (averaging around 18km/h in my rides. But the groupset is not really geared to allow climbing, yet it is geared to reach 40kp/h with its 48 toothcrank. This seems rediculous for a hybrid bike which is a 1 by 11 groupset. When out riding with my partner who also has a hybrid/commuter bike, I have to overtake them on unclines, to ride off into the distance as they have so many lower gears than I do on the Path-4. I am having to replace the crank to a 36 tooth after only 3 months of riding this bike, just to open up the gears more and give me the ability to climb hills. The initial building from box had it's own issues. There was no grease on the front and rear through axles which was spotted initially on the front axle. I checked the rear axle to find there was none there also. I would have loved a bike with quick release axles as I have always ridden these. It allows such easy transport in car's. I understand the benifits of a through axle over the quick release in performance and in security for a hybrid city communter. But I did not see the listing about it until I had purchased the bike. Continuing the factory build issues. The breaks were actually fitted upside down. I will have to take these to a bike shop to have them both removed and refitted. Finally, my last annoyance was that in the pictures the Path-4 has 2 bottle mounts on the frame. And the bike I have only has 1. This means I have to find other ways to carry water for my rides in the Australian summer. This is my second Polygon bike purchased from Bikes Online. I have ridding the Pollygon Path-4 for 3 months now. And even my partner has ridden it and loved it. But there were issues. My other bike is a Pollygon Sisku D5 which did not have any of the issues the Path-4 has. Also please list the bikes weight on the store page. A 10kg bike is a major selling point. Yes with all the stuff we put on them, cycling computers, camera's, lights etc add to the weight. But a light bike is fun and nimble.

A pleasant purchase

Brad was very good in making sure the bike for my daughter was the right size and kept in contact with me during the whole process. This is my second bike from them and very happy.

Polygon Path F4

Awesome bike, better than expected. Good packaging, but I wish the frame was better protected had some scuff marks from shipping but not to bad. The bike has been great so far, it's lite, fast the wheels were straight and the tiagra system shifted great rite of the box.
