NiteRider Pro 1200 LED Rechargeable Headlight

In our last blog, we discussed some of the buying considerations for evaluating Bicycle Headlight systems.  In this writeup, I wanted to discuss one Bicycle Headlight manufacturer in particular, NiteRider.  The Company has been a major player in the bike lighting industry for more than 19 years and makes a great variety of Bicycle Headlight systems for just about any riding style or interest level.

How to Purchase a Bicycle Headlight System

Bicycle Headlight

As fall arives and winter is right around the corner, it is time to start thinking about getting your rides in as our days get shorter and shorter.  For some this means riding indoors on a trainer or spending more time in the gym.  Fortunately, there are many options for those who refuse to be relegated indoors.  Modern Bicycle Headlight systems are extremely functional and provide for a reliable and safe riding experience at night.  However, with so many choices how do you narrow down the light that is right for you.  To answer this you really need to think about how you spend your time on the bike.  Things to consider are how long your rides are, how dark are the areas where you ride, do you ride for commute or are you riding offroad?  These are some of the many considerations when purchasing a bike light.

For comparison and evaluation, Bicycle Headlight systems are typically measured with the following specifications:

  1. Bulb Type
  2. Battery Type
  3. Run Time
  4. Charge time
  5. Weight
  6. Light Output

All things considered, the best choice for most applications is a bike light that has the highest light output with the longest run time.

Personalize Your LAS Helmet Aerator

Las Aerator Personalization

If you are like me, putting some special touches on my cycling gear helps me identify with my equipment in a personal way...for better or worse it also makes it easy for your friends to find you in a crowd.

A great way to do this is to personalize your LAS Helmet Aerator. You can take any picture or graphic and have it superimposed on the LAS Helmet Aerator. Consider a mountain view, the trailhead of your favorite singletrack, your own pretty face :-) Ok, that might get you some ribbing from your friends, but it is up to you.

The point is, use your imagination. If you can take a picture of it you can have it placed on your LAS Helmet Aerator. Give us a call if you would like to discuss how we can personalize your LAS. Bikes Online can easily ship you a fully personalized LAS Helmet Aerator for a nominal fee.

LAS Squalo Helmet Review

LAS Squalo Helmet Review

Rick,

WOOHOO, I got the helmet today! Anthracite is a great color. The helmet is a good fit for my head and was easy to adjust. The straps and retention system are similar to the SHAIN that my pup chewed. The similarities end there. The LAS Squalo not only looks better, but appears to be manufactured with higher standards. The retention system is anchored quite solidly and should be able to handle a Niterider helmet light easily. Having the second liner is cool, too. Thanks, for the quick shipping and for the follow-up...

Irmina (customer from CA)

At Bikes Online we really appreciate hearing from our customers because their experiences with our products means more than and insider review ever would.  Irmina has eloquently described what we already know about LAS Squalo Helmets, they are top of the line and worth every penny.  The LAS Squalo is one piece of a line that includes the Kripton, Haxial, Bionix, Cronometro, Istrion and Esprit II.  If you are unfamiliar with LAS Helmets, do a little web research.  This is truly our favorite helmet line.
